The Greene County High School production of “Into the Woods” is set to take the stage this weekend, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7 pm, and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm in the Greene County High School Auditorium.
“Into the Woods” follows a baker (played by Gavin Vander Linden) and his wife (played by Daniele Madsen), who wish to have a child. With nods to various fairy tales throughout the story, Cinderella (played by Olivia Hoyt), wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack (played by Carter Petterson) wishes his cow would give milk. The witch (played by Ava Schilling) has cast a spell, which brings all the characters together to find solutions to each of their problems.
The cast includes: Baker – Gavin Vander Linden; Baker’s wife – Daniele Madsen; Cinderella – Olivia Hoyt; Witch – Ava Schilling; Jack – Carter Petterson; Mysterious man – Aden Bardole; Jack’s mother – Hailey Carman; narrator – Esther Van Horn; Stepmother – Grace Hardaway;
Florinda – Karlee Fagerlind; and Lucinda – Lily Hinote.
Also, Little Red Riding Hood – Lucy Vander Linden; Cinderella’s prince – William Graham; Rapunzel’s Prince – Bill Wright; Milky White – Ali Lawson; Rapunzel – Emma Acton; Steward – Aiden Clark; Wolf – Mason Lehman ; Granny – Ella Ostrander; Cinderella’s mother – Kaylee Stalder; Cinderella’s father – Charlie Cooklin; Giant – Luna Rowe; Snow White – Evelyn Snyder;
Sleeping Beauty – Calleigh Fitzpatrick; and Peter Pan – Austin Lacey.
Working on the stage crew are:Sara Stoffa, Chris Hankel, Logan Edwards, Lizzy Long, Hayleigh Rivera and Seth Bellinghausen.
Dave Heupel is directing the performance which features a pit orchestra. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim with book by James Lapine.
